Placing reference points, which is necessary for 3D scanning of large-scale parts such as yachts, cars or large machine components, is time-consuming and laborious. AESUB therefore now offers continuous dots on a roll that can be quickly and easily peeled off and placed on large surfaces.
The transparent adhesive strip, over 25 metres long, features 6-millimetre retro-reflective reference points along its entire length. The dots are distributed across the adhesive strip at irregular intervals of 50–70 millimetres.
As the adhesive strip is perforated at intervals of approximately 50 centimetres, it can be easily adapted to the size of the part in question. The transparent film is flexible and adapts to free-form surfaces without creasing.
The continuous dots are positioned within a few seconds, so that the scanning process can begin immediately. As the backing film is transparent and very thin, only the dots are detected and scanning can be carried out through the backing material.
After scanning, the adhesive tape can be removed just as quickly and easily.
AESUBdots retro medical are available with an inner diameter of 6 mm.
