Description
The PET CF filament represents Ultimaker’s first step into the world of composite materials. With outstanding mechanical properties, low moisture sensitivity and comparatively easy printability, it offers a balanced ratio of toughness, stiffness and resistance to external influences such as chemicals and heat. These properties make the material ideal for demanding applications in industrial environments.
Annealing can further enhance the already high strength, stiffness and temperature resistance of PET CF. The tempering process increases the temperature resistance of the parts from around 80°C to an impressive 181°C, whilst strength increases by around 30% and stiffness by 10%.
Processing Ultimaker PET CF requires abrasion-resistant print nozzles such as Ultimaker’s CC Print Cores. Each filament spool is equipped with an NFC chip for automatic material recognition and is perfectly matched to the Ultimaker S-series 3D printers. PET CF can also be used in combination with Ultimaker support materials such as PVA and Breakaway, enabling a simple and reliable printing process for versatile applications with this high-performance composite material.
