Description

Shining 3D Einstar Rockit - 3D Scanner

The Shining 3D EINSTAR Rockit is a compact, pocket-sized mobile 3D scanner that combines high speed and flexible scan modes in a single device. The hybrid light source combines blue laser lines for detailed capture in Laser HD mode with IR VCSEL (infrared) for fast, eye-safe scans in IR Rapid mode. For Laser HD mode, 38 blue laser lines in a cross-pattern (19+19) are available, along with an additional 7 parallel blue laser lines. This makes the Rockit suitable for a wide range of object sizes and surfaces, whilst remaining reliable even under changing environmental conditions.

Designed for use on the go, the scanner is built with mobility in mind. Wireless operation is enabled via the integrated Wi-Fi module and a replaceable battery with a runtime of up to three hours. If the wireless connection is unstable, you can alternatively use a USB Type-C connection to ensure consistently reliable data transfer.

Areas of application:

The EINSTAR Rockit is ideal for users who require high-quality mobile 3D scanning and want to be up and running as quickly as possible. Whether in the studio, in the workshop or directly at the object, the Laser HD mode enables precise digitisation of small to medium-sized parts. IR Rapid mode is particularly useful when capturing large objects or people, as IR scanning is safe for the eyes and designed for rapid surface capture.

In reverse engineering, prototyping and product design, the Rockit supports the rapid capture of real-world objects for further processing in CAD and 3D workflows. For automotive applications, the mobile working method is a major advantage, as components and areas on the vehicle can be scanned directly on site. In art, culture and AR and VR projects, the integrated 5-megapixel colour camera is impressive, as it captures colour textures and enables realistic models for presentation and digital archiving.

The Rockit can also be used outdoors, as it is designed to cope with dynamic lighting conditions. Depending on the mode, it operates reliably up to 110,000 lux in Laser HD mode and up to 70,000 lux in IR Rapid mode.

Key features and benefits:

Hybrid light source (Laser HD + IR Rapid)

  • Laser HD:
    38 laser lines (19 + 19 crossed) for fast, large-area detection
7 parallel blue laser lines for fine details and clean edges
Suitable for precise components, even on challenging surfaces such as dark or reflective materials

  • IR Rapid:
IR VCSEL for medium to large objects and full-body scans
Eye-safe thanks to laser class 1 in IR mode
Supports fast acquisition and stable tracks, even in bright ambient conditions

High scanning performance
The Rockit is designed for speed and stable data. This facilitates efficient workflows whilst maintaining consistent quality.

  • up to 2,800,000 points/s in Laser HD mode

  • up to 1,440,000 dots/s in IR Rapid mode

  • up to 90 fps possible, depending on the alignment mode

Flexible working distances and fields of view
Thanks to the large working ranges, the scanner can be used comfortably for both small objects and large surfaces.

  • Working distance: 100–600 mm (Laser HD, 19+19 crossed) / 100–400 mm (Laser HD, 7 parallel laser lines) / 160–1400 mm (IR Rapid)
  • Max. field of view: 545 × 620 mm (38 laser lines, 19+19 crossed) / 355 × 425 mm (7 parallel laser lines) / 1170 × 1385 mm (IR)

Alignment modes for stable tracks
Global markers, markers, features, texture and hybrid alignment, depending on the object and surface.

Compact and lightweight
The scanner is designed for portability and is well suited to longer scanning sessions.

  • Dimensions: 130 × 37 × 61 mm

  • Weight: 353 g (without battery), 425 g (with battery)

Full-colour capture
A 5 MP colour camera is integrated for coloured models. It supports the capture of colour textures for more realistic models, for example for presentations, cultural projects or AR/VR applications.

Common export formats
STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF, ASC for seamless further processing.

Laser classes and outdoor suitability
The scanner is designed for use in bright ambient light, depending on the selected mode.

  • Laser HD: Class 2

  • IR Rapid: Class 1

  • Outdoor lighting conditions: up to 110,000 lux (Laser HD) / up to 70,000 lux (IR Rapid)

Efficient 3D scans – ultra-portable, wireless and versatile

The Shining 3D EINSTAR Rockit is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a compact, powerful universal scanner. The Laser HD mode enables precise detail capture and clean component scans, whilst the IR Rapid mode allows large objects and people to be captured quickly and safely. Wireless operation with a replaceable battery and the option of a USB Type-C connection ensure that the scanner can be used reliably both on the go and in the studio.
